Thermal Deburring

Before

Magna-Tech Manufacturing, a Henkel company, provides Thermal Deburring services for applications that typically have inaccessible burrs such as internal and external flashing burrs, rough edge finishes and applications that have threaded holes.

Thermal Deburring is accomplished using quick bursts of heated energy (a combination of natural gas and oxygen) to vaporize unwanted burrs. Once the burrs are vaporized, the part is cleaned to eliminate oxidation residue. Thermal Deburring is a more gentle process than other conventional methods. The Thermal Deburr process eliminates burrs from hard-to-reach areas. However, this process does not disturb machined surfaces and will not contribute to surface nicks or scratches.

After

Thermal Deburring is consistent from batch to batch. Thereby providing uniform parts after each cycle. Since the process is largely automated, Thermal Deburring is a method that is reliable and safe each and every time.

Thermal Deburring can replace hand deburring and can be used as an alternative to tumbling, wire brushing and other conventional deburring methods. This process is efficient, cost effective and reduces potential for damage that may be caused using other deburring methods.

Typical applications include, but are not limited to, the following
